UCA-SEA Hosts WPI Students for a Project on Circular Economy in Ports

Four students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Massachusetts, USA) have begun their visit this week to the Smart Manufacturing Lab at the UCA-SEA Innovation Center to work on their project titled ‘Evaluating the Feasibility of WAAM for Ship Repair in Algeciras’.
WPI is an American university known for its applied education, primarily utilizing the Project-Based Learning (PBL) methodology project-based learning. The students Edward Stump, Thomas Joyner, Ava Dickman, and Jackie Edwards are third-year students forming a multidisciplinary team from engineering and business programs. Over the course of five weeks, they will develop this project in collaboration with the laboratory’s researchers.
