Antonio José Gil Mena holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Cádiz, a Technical Industrial Engineering degree in Electricity from the University of Cádiz, and a degree in Automation and Industrial Electronics Engineering from the University of Málaga. Since 1992, he has worked in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Cádiz, where he currently serves as Associate Professor. He has held various academic positions throughout his professional career, contributing to university management. He is presently the Head of the Departmental Section of the Department of Electrical Engineering in Algeciras.
He has participated in several national research projects from 2005 to 2015, focusing on wind generator models, hybrid electric energy systems, and medium-voltage direct current systems. His publications include 19 articles, 3 conference papers, and one poster. His field of interest encompasses energy distribution systems, electricity markets, renewable energy, their control through electronic converters, and engineering optimization in general. Currently, his area of interest is simulation and optimization in the field of additive manufacturing.
