Juan María Terrones Saeta is a professor in the area of Continuum Mechanics and Structural Theory at the Higher Technical School of Engineering in Algeciras, part of the University of Cádiz. He holds degrees in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, and a Master’s in Materials Engineering, as well as a Ph.D. in Advances in Materials Engineering.
With over a decade of teaching experience at various Andalusian universities, his research focuses on the modeling and mechanical analysis of sustainable materials applied to construction. These materials include ceramics, concrete, geopolymers, and bituminous mixtures, with a particular emphasis on incorporating industrial and mining waste. His scientific career boasts more than 30 publications in high-impact journals, along with numerous presentations at prestigious international conferences.
Currently, he supervises three doctoral theses as well as several undergraduate and master’s projects in areas related to his expertise. He is an active member of the TEP-976 Structural and Geotechnical Engineering research group, collaborating closely with regional companies on projects focused on the development of new materials and waste valorization.
